Saicho – Hojicha is a non-alcoholic sparkling tea made from roasted Japanese green tea. Hojicha originated in Kyoto in the 1920s, when surplus tea leaves, stems, and twigs began to be roasted to create a new style of tea. The result is a deeply aromatic and gastronomic sparkling tea whose character is distinctly different from traditional green teas.
